Your thoughts create your reality

Thought Power - Your Thoughts Create Your Reality.

Thought power is the key to creating your reality. Everything you perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of your thoughts and beliefs. To become the master of your destiny, you must learn to control the nature of your dominant, habitual thoughts. By doing so, you will be able to attract into your life that which you intend to have and experience as you come to know the Truth that your thoughts create your reality.

For Every Outside Effect There is an Inner Cause:
Every effect you see in your outside or physical world has a specific cause which has its origin in your inner or mental world. This is the essence of thought power. Put another way, the conditions and circumstances of your life are as a result of your collective thoughts and beliefs. James Allen said it best when he said "circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him". Every aspect of your life, from the state of your finances to the state of your health and your relationships, is accurately revealing your thoughts and your beliefs.

It's an Inside Job:
Most people have it back to front, believing that they feel or think a certain way because of their circumstances, not knowing the truth that it is their thought power that is creating those very circumstances, whether wanted or unwanted. By internalizing and applying this Truth, that your thoughts create your reality, you will grant yourself the power to create the changes you want to see manifest in your life. Reality creation is an inside job.

Your Thought Power is Limitless:
There is a single, intelligent Consciousness that pervades the entire Universe, which is all powerful, all knowing, all creative and present everywhere at the same time - the Universal Mind. Your mind is part of this One Universal Mind and since your thoughts are a product of your mind, it follows that your thought power too is limitless. Once you truly understand that your mind is one with the Single Source of All Power and that this power is within you, you will have found the only true source of infinite power for which nothing is impossible and impossible is nothing. Know that thought power comes from within. Accessing the source of All Power starts by looking inwards.

Your Thoughts are Alive:
The greatest mystics and teachers that have walked the Earth have told us that everything is energy. This has now been undeniably confirmed by modern science. Your thoughts too are energy. William Walker Atkinson told us that "where mind is static energy, thought is dynamic energy - two phases of the same thing" and Charles Haanel went on to say that "thought power is the vibratory force formed by converting static mind into dynamic mind". Your thoughts are alive. Each time you entertain a specific thought, you emit a very specific, corresponding frequency or energy vibration.

What Frequency Are You On:
The basic premise of the Law of Attraction is that like energy attracts like energy. You attract to yourself those things and circumstances that are in vibrational harmony with your dominant frequency, which is itself determined by your dominant mental attitude, habitual thoughts and beliefs. Mike Dooley, one of the presenters of the movie The Secret, fittingly suggests that if you want to know what a thought looks like, just look around you. Keep in mind these three words "thoughts are things".

Not All Thoughts Are Created Equal:
The attractive power of any particular thought is determined by how often you have that thought and by the strength of the feelings or emotions associated with it. The more energy you give to a particular thought, the greater its power to attract its corresponding circumstance into your physical world through the Law of Attraction. Your one-off, passing thoughts do not have the same creative power as your habitual thoughts and beliefs. Remember, that it is of little use to entertain positive thoughts for just a short burst of time each day if you then proceed to think negative or unwanted thoughts for the rest of the day. A negative thought cancels the benefit of a positive thought and vice versa. Since your reality is the sum total of all your thoughts there are many factors influencing your life. This makes it difficult to directly join the dots between the cause (thought) and the effect (circumstance) but the causation is always there.

Use Thought Power to Change Your Life:
It is your subconscious mind that is the storehouse of your deep-seated beliefs and programmes. To change your circumstances and attract to yourself that which you choose, you must learn to programme and re-programme your subconscious mind. The most effective and practical way to do so, is to learn the simple process of creative visualization. It is the technique underlying reality creation, making use of thought power to consciously imagine, create and attract that which you choose. Your imagination is the engine of your thoughts. It converts your thought power into mental images, which are in turn manifested in the physical realm.

Become Aware of Your Thoughts But Not Obsessed:
It is important that you learn to be aware of your habitual thoughts and to appropriately adjust them so as to maintain an overall positive mental attitude. However, be careful not to become obsessed with every thought that enters your mind as this would be equally counter-productive, if not more so, than not being aware of them at all. Remember that to obsess over your negative, unwanted thoughts, is to give them power and as the saying goes, what you resist persists. So instead of resisting any of your negative thoughts, simply learn to effortlessly cancel them by replacing them as they arise.

Instantly Replace Unwanted Thoughts: To instantly neutralize the power of a negative thought, calmly and deliberately replace it with its opposite, positive equivalent. For instance, if you think to yourself "I'm not good enough, I will never succeed", mentally replace that thought with "I am good enough and success comes to me easily". You can also use the "cancel, cancel" technique made famous by the Silva Method. Each time you catch yourself thinking an unwanted thought, mentally tell yourself and the Universe "cancel, cancel" and immediately follow it up with a positive statement.

Tame Your Dominant Thoughts and Your Random Thoughts Will Follow Suit:
It is estimated that the average person has between 12,000 and 70,000 thoughts a day. This is evidence enough to suggest that your goal should not be to control every thought. It is your dominant thoughts and beliefs that you must learn to bring under your conscious control as they are what largely determine your mental attitude. As you do, you will find your random thoughts themselves becoming more positive and more deliberate.

The following words of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha perfectly capture the essence of thought power:
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."

In a nutshell, your life is the perfect mirror of your thoughts, beliefs and dominant mental attitude. Whether you realise it or not you are already creating your reality through your thought power. Every effect you see in your outside world has its original cause within you - no exceptions. To gain access to the greatest creative power at your disposal, you must learn to control the nature of your habitual thoughts and to align yourself with the One Source of All Power of which you are a part. Your thoughts create your reality - know, internalize and apply this Truth and you will see your life transform in miraculous ways.

When your head is aching from sinus congestion and your nose is plugged up, going to yoga class is probably not the best option. Rather than completely neglecting your yoga practice, opt for a minisequence at home to open up your chest and improve your circulation.

If you are looking for a little more of a workout, simply complete a few rounds of Sun Salutations between each congestion-soothing posture. After your cold-busting workout check out this juice recipe for cold & sinus relief. It’s the perfect cold-weather combo.

Bridge Pose:  Bridge posture is a mild yet effective way to open your chest, in addition to sending fresh blood to your head.
What to Do:
Set up strong: When you’re setting up the pose, lay a strong foundation. Lie supine (lying down with face upward) on the floor. Take a few deep breaths to get grounded and relaxed. Bend your knees, plant your feet flat on the floor, and make sure the knees are hips-distance apart.
Align it right: As you push your pelvis up and forward, your knees should be directly over your heels. If you want to make sure you have the right distance between your shoulders and your feet, here’s a great rule of thumb: when you reach for your heels, your fingertips should just graze the back of your feet. Keep your arms extended on either side of your body with palms facing down. If you want to take it up a notch, clasp your hands under your pelvis, and as you come into the full expression of the pose, roll your shoulders in toward one another.
Stop the squeeze: Release your butt! Unlike some Pilates or exercise variations of a bridge, there should be no serious tension or strain in your tush when you’re lifting up your hips toward the ceiling. With that said, be sure to keep your thighs strong and engaged in order to get those hips even higher.
Face forward: Make sure you don’t look around when you’re in bridge. Your chin should be slightly lifted away from your sternum for proper alignment while keeping your gaze forward to slightly up toward the ceiling. I know it can be tempting, but if you check out your neighbors on either side, you could run the risk of hurting your neck.
Come down clean: When you’re coming out of bridge pose, release your clasped hands, and slowly bring your body back to the Earth. Also, be sure keep your head facing forward until you’re all the way down. After Bridge, I love to bring my knees in toward my chest for a squeeze, and then roll my knees slowly from side to side for a minimassage. It’s the perfect counterpose to give your lower back some love.
Hold for 30 seconds to a minute: and then release on an exhalation while rolling the spine, one vertebra at a time, onto the mat. If you feel like you can handle something more advanced, then try Wheel Pose.
Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 12.21.27 PM
Camel Pose: Camel will open up your back and chest even further while clearing out your passageways. If you can’t reach the heels of your feet or it’s too intense, then place your hands on your lower back, fingers pointing down, and bend back until you feel the stretch. If not completed properly, this pose can be very strenuous on your back, so don’t overexert yourself.
What to Do:
Kneel at the front of your mat, keeping your knees under your hips. Look back and make sure your shins, ankles, and feet are parallel to each other.
Put both hands on your hips, and gently arch back, just beginning to warm up your lower back and quads.
When you’re ready, reach your right hand back toward your right heel, and then your left toward your left heel. Your hands are there for balancing support, so don’t lean all your weight into them. Try to shift weight forward into your knees, which will also increase the stretch you feel in your belly and chest.
Lower your head behind you and stay here for five breaths.
Hold the pose for five breaths. Come up slowly and sit on your heels. Lean forward, releasing your lower back into Child’s Pose.
Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 12.24.17 PM
Plow Pose: Plow Pose is considered therapeutic for sinusitis, but this pose might feel uncomfortable if your back or hamstrings are really tight. If so, you can always bend your knees and place them next to your ears as a variation.
What to Do: Either fall back into Plow Pose from Shoulder Stand, or come into the pose like this:
Begin lying flat on your back on a mat or rug. Place your arms by your sides, palms facing down.
Press firmly into your palms, bend your knees, and bring both legs over your head. If you can, straighten your knees and touch your toes to the ground.
Interlace your fingers and then gently rock your weight side to side a little so you can bring your shoulder blades closer together. Keep your head and neck still.
Think about bringing your hips over your shoulders, and lengthening your spine as much as possible. If it’s difficult for you to take deep breaths (bigger breasted women may have this problem), just shift your hips away from your head a few inches.
Stay here for five or more breaths, and then you can slowly bend your knees and shift your hips down to the floor, hugging your knees into your chest. Stay here for a minute or so, letting your neck and spine adjust.
Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 12.27.07 PM
Bow Pose: Bow Pose stretches your neck, chest, stomach, and back. Opening your neck and chest will lead to better breathing. This pose is great for relaxation, as well, if you are feeling restless and unable to sleep due to your cold symptoms. This pose creates a lot of tension, which, when released, will make you feel ready to enter a deep slumber.

What to Do:
Lie flat on your stomach, pressing your belly button into the ground.
Bend your knees and grab onto the outside edge of your right ankle, and then your left.
Once you have a firm hold of each ankle, try to keep your toes together, either pointing or flexing your feet. Now lift your feet up as high as you can, and shift your weight forward so that you’re resting on your naval instead of on your pubic bone.
Hold for five deep breaths and then slowly lower and lie flat. Turn your head to one side and shake your hips from side to side to release your lower back.
Repeat again or relax in Child’s Pose.
Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 12.27.31 PM
Headstand: Headstand is one of the most difficult yoga postures, yet it is incredibly energizing and detoxing to let stagnant blood rush from your toes, filter through your heart, and drain into your head.
What to Do: This sequence will give you step-by-step instructions to help you work up into Headstand. If the full posture is too much, then simply try one of the variations. Hold your Headstand variations for five breaths or longer. If you fall, then try once more and call it quits for the day, so you don’t place too much pressure on your neck and head.

1-Minute Breathing Exercise for Energy and Productivity

Breath and productivity go hand in hand. Incorrect breathing not only reduces your productivity levels; it can also lead to an increase in your heart rate, the same way sleep apnea quickens the pulse as the body struggles to take in oxygen.
Yoga breathing techniques offer a practical solution. Yoga has become a common form of stress management and exercise for overworked executives, and you can practice yogic breathing exercises without going to a yoga class.
Try this 1-minute breathing exercise to boost blood oxygen and productivity
Professional yoga therapist Felice Rhiannon uses this one-minute breath practice whenever she’s feeling frazzled or restless. It is a centering activity based on a slow inhalation and an incremental increase in the length of exhalations.
Inhale to the count of two
Exhale to the count of two
Inhale to the count of two
Exhale to the count of three
Inhale to the count of two
Exhale to the count of four
Inhale to the count of two
Exhale to the count of five
Repeat several times, then return to your normal breathing. Your improved breathing will help regulate the oxygen flow in your blood, making you more alert. With a sharper focus, you can stay on task and make fewer mistakes, saving you time in the long run.

Colour in the Home- Chakras

There are many variations of the basic colours. The paler versions give us the same qualities as the bold colour but in a gentler way.  When decorating an area - the complementary colours, and their variations, should be remembered and combined with our main choice of colour by way of soft furnishings perhaps, pictures etc.
It is also helpful to take in to account the aspect of a room. For example, should you require a calming atmosphere in a north facing room, which may well be one of the colder rooms in your house, remember to use some warm colours (i.e. variations of the warm colours of yellow, orange and red) to avoid the room feeling colder.
Following is a table of colours and their suggested uses in various areas.
Colour Effects Suggested
Violet: Calming for body and mind. Good for meditation and prayer. Enhances purpose and dignity. Heightens our awareness and helps us to give of our very best. Purifying.
Indigo: Sedative. Helps to open up our intuition. The colour of divine knowledge and the higher mind.
Blue: Calming, relaxing and healing. Not as sedating as indigo. Also the colour of communication.
Green: Balancing, harmonizing and encourages tolerance and understanding.
Yellow: Stimulates mental activity, feeling of confidence. Helpful for study as it helps us to stay alert.
Orange: Warming and energizing. Can stimulate creativity. Orange is the colour of fun and sociability.
Red: Energizing, exciting the emotions, stimulates appetite.
Magenta: is the eighth colour in the colour spectrum and is a combination of red and violet, thus it combines our earthly self and spiritual self, thus balancing spirit and matter. It is uplifting and helps us to gain a feeling of completeness and fulfillment.
Turquoise: Cool and calming and good for the nervous system and immune system.Pink: This colour soothes and nurtures. It helps to dissolve anger and encourages unconditional love.
Black: Used with another colour enhances the energy of that second colour. Black gives us the space for reflection and inner searching.
White: Contains all the colours. It emphasizes purity and illuminates our thoughts, giving us clarity.
Areas of Use
Violet: Places of worship, entry areas to clinics and hospitals, festival areas. Pale violet
in bedrooms.

Indigo: Not suitable for areas for entertainment but for more 'quiet' places. Bedrooms, treatment rooms.
Blue: Any rooms except those used for physical activity or play.
Green: Depending upon the shade, can be used for most areas. Use with other colours as well to avoid the balance and harmony becoming more like total inactivity and indecision.
Yellow: Activity rooms, entrance halls. Not for bedrooms as can interfere with sleep - it tends to keep our minds "switched on". Not ideal for areas of possible stress.
Orange: Any activity area and creative areas. Not ideal for bedrooms or areas of possible stress.Red: Any activity area. Needs careful choice of tone and depth and the space in which it is to be used. Can make a space look smaller and be claustrophobic. Used well, however, red can make a space feel warm and cosy. Often used in restaurants.
Magenta: Lecture spaces, chapels, halls etc. Not ideal for play rooms or activity rooms.
Turquoise: Any room except it is not ideal for activity areas.
Pink: Ideal for a baby's or child's bedroom.
Black: Not ideal as a single colour, but when used with care, can enhance and complement other colours in almost any situation.
White: Any room, but it can be a little intimidating to some Needs to be broken up with another colour or with plants/ornaments/pictures etc.

Colour Breathing

A lovely and very helpful exercise is Colour
Breathing - or breathing in the rainbow.

The
purpose of this is to heighten our awareness of
colour and to encourage a balance of all the
seven main chakra colours for our well being.

Stand with feet slightly apart and arms by your
side, relaxed with palms turned to the front. Relax
the shoulders, and concentrate on your breathing,
consciously relaxing all of your body from the top
of your head to the tips of your toes.

Breathe
deeply in through the nose, holding for a few
moments and then breathing out through the
nose or mouth.

As you breathe out, imagine
expelling all the stress, negativity and toxins from
your body. If you can do this exercise outside all
the better, and, weather permitting, stand on
grass with bare feet.

Affirmations, either spoken out loud or as a
concentrated thought, can be helpful too to help
us focus and avoid our minds from wandering.

For example, red is the Colour of courage and
strength - we could say to ourselves - the energy
of red fills my body and I have the strength and
courage to move forward along my life's path.

It
doesn't matter how we word our affirmations -
they will be unique to each individual - but
remember the positive aspects of the colours and
make sure your statements are positive .

First breathe in red from the earth, imagine it
rising up through your whole body giving you
strength and courage.

Make an affirmation to suit
your situation as you breathe in and experience
the colour filling your body.

Allow the colour to
travel up through the body and out of the top of
the head and then back down again to the earth.

Repeat with orange and an appropriate
affirmation, then yellow. These first three colours
are absorbed from the earth.

Then green. This
colour is absorbed horizontally through the solar
plexus, let it fill your body, thinking or speaking
your affirmation, and let it leave through the
back.
Then blue which is absorbed from the sky,
through the top of the head and out again going
back up to the sky, similarly with the indigo and
violet.

If this exercise is done daily you will notice how
your colour awareness develops and you will be
able to visualize the colours much more strongly
as you do this exercise regularly, balancing and
enhancing your body's energies.
